CREST
Jul. 19, 2021
Enhancing Quality of Life. Life is more than living in the walls of your home. It is doing those things that bring enjoyment, add zest to your day and interactions with family, friends and community. Karen will share the incredibly positive impact when CREST opened all in person services, the expansion of services, the first Summer Intern and the excitement within the CREST family. When we were young we dreamed of leaving home. When we grow older we dream of staying in our home. Living lives to the fullest, being as active as possible, enjoying family and friends, engaging in favorite activities and even exploring new interests, most of all being independent are dreams shared by most Senior Citizens and Caregivers. That’s where CREST comes in…To Keep Dreams Alive! |

District Governor's Presentation
Jul. 26, 2021 12:00 p.m.
Marianna Khauv has been a member of the Monticello Rotary Club since 1994 and served as its secretary, international service chair and Club President in 2012-2013. She serves as a member of District Grant Committee from 2013-2019, and as Rotary District 5950 Area 13 Assistant Governor from 2016 to 2019.
Marianna was born in Taiwan and immigrated to United States with her parents at age thirteen. She did not speak any English and was amazed with the new culture and new environment, especially SNOW and Below zero temperature!
Marianna and her husband, Onn Khauv, have settled in Monticello since 1991 where they raised their three daughters, Malinda Amanda and Olivia. Monticello then was a small town with population about 4,000. Marianna and Onn’s restaurant were embraced by the local residents. With the success of their businesses, they soon start finding ways to volunteer to give back to the community. “The more we give back, the more we benefit from it, it is a vicious circle!” said Marianna. Her theme as the Chair of Monticello Chamber of Commerce in 1999 was “U” & “I” working in “Unity” for a better “CommUnIty”. This has been Marianna’s focus in her Rotary world, both locally & globally.
Together, with the help from Rotary Clubs of Alexandria, Buffalo, St. Michael & Albertville, and Monticello, she was able to build a total of three libraries for schools in rural villages of Cambodia where there were no running water nor electricity. To Marianna, it is a true testimony of the power of Rotary -working together!

Fairmont Brewing Company
Sep. 13, 2021 12:00 p.m.
Fairmont Brewing Company Introducting Joe and Lea Riemann! They are the founders of Fairmont Brewing Company, a craft brewery opening in downtown Fairmont this year. We moved to Fairmont a little under a year ago from the Twin Cities and were inspired to open a local business. We are excited to bring a long desired feature to Fairmont and we hope it reflects all our community has to offer: a fun atmosphere, quality hospitality and a welcoming environment. The brewery will feature a variety of fresh craft beer brewed onsite, locally sourced pasture raised heritage pork brats and quality service. We look forward to introducing ourselves and sharing our progress towards opening with the Fairmont Rotary Club. Local community support for Fairmont Brewing is critical to our success and for the revitalization of downtown Fairmont. Equipment needed: a typical set up for a powerpoint, an HDMI cord and a screen Introduction by: Linsey Preuss |

Light of Hope Kenya
Sep. 20, 2021 12:00 p.m.
Mission of Light of Hope Kenya Upholding a loving Christian environment, providing quality education, developing self-sustainability, and positively impacting our community. We are committed to changing the world, one girl at a time – and we do it by empowering the passionate, ethical leaders of tomorrow. We encourage our girls to take advantage of leadership opportunities, from taking charge as class prefects, sports team captains, study group and student body leaders. The older girls serve as mentors and tutors to the younger girls. They learn public speaking, how to use their gifts and skills as they participate in weekly worship services. Our girls participate in community service projects in and around Naivasha, as well as here at Light of Hope Home & School, learning the importance of engaged citizenship. We will place special emphasis on the 21st century skills our girls will need to actively engage in social, economic, and political life. All these things help them to advance into strong, confident girls. Presentation equipment needed: Introduction: Terry Malherek Greeter: Patrick Justin |
